International Corporate Governance Network

The world's leaders in corporate governance will gather in Wilmington, Delaware on 10 December 2008 to examine the future of corporate governance in times of financial crisis. John Wilcox will participate at the Session on "Long Term Sustainability - How do we get there?" in which the following issues will be debated: "Governance, environmental and social issues are integral to business strategy and long term value creation. In light of the financial crisis, what is the role of governance, sustainability and social responsibility in risk management and the development of strategic opportunities for companies? Can governance enhance market-based solutions to the financial crisis? What is the role of asset managers, corporations and investors?".

The Conference will also debate on the recently released " ICGN Statement on the Global Financial Crisis" (you can download a copy at: www.icgn.org/news/releases/ fcrisis_statement_10nov2008. php ), in which the members of the IGGN craft their view on the role that corporate governance should play to restore trust in the financial markets.
