Stefano Mercati is based in Milan and is part of Sodali’s Corporate Restructuring and Special Projects team.
He oversees the firm’s strategy, business development and services in the bond and debt restructuring field. Prior to joining Sodali, he has been General Counsel of the Fantuzzi Group, and has actively worked for various bond and debt issuances, bond reschedulings, debt restructurings, industrial restructurings and merger & acquisitions.
Working as a corporate insider in a wide array of complex transactions, he brings both technical understanding of the mechanics of these transactions and the expertise required to address and align the interests of different classes of creditors and institutional investors to issuers’ proposals.
In Sodali, he works together with issuers and advisors to propose solutions to deal effectively with debtholders in delicate transactions. He covers a wide range of strategic activities, from assisting issuers in engaging bondholders in Meetings to all other financial reorganizations, including debt restructurings”.
Stefano holds a law degree from the University of Modena and an accountant certificate diploma.
